  5. Why did you become a Referee?
    Something to do on a Saturday afternoon after moving to Peterborough from Bolton.

  6. Most inspirational person in your refereeing?
    My fellow referees who go training on a Thursday evening at Alconbury

  7. Most memorable moment since refereeing?
    The first game I ever did. I was at Peterborough Sports and Leisure in the Peterborough Premier League. I was on the line, my Dad was watching, very nervous. Great Fun.

  8. What is the funniest moment in any of your games?
    Cautioning a player and then 5 minutes later running backwards for a goal kick and running into the player and falling over him as he was tying his bootlace.

  9. What is the worst or frustrating moment in any of your games?
    When I have made an incorrect decision and everyone knows it

  10. What ambitions do you have whether refereeing or having given up the whistle…
    In one year?
    To become a supply league referee on the Eastern Counties League

    In five years?
    To referee one game in the FA cup

    In ten years?
    To still be fit enough to referee at any level

  11. Before each game you officiate on, what aims do you have?
    Not to make any major cock-ups / to have to correct equipment at the start of every match / and to enjoy the game by smiling for 90 minutes

  12. What most frustrates you on the field?
    Players/managers who do not know the laws of the game and show dissent at every decision.

  13. What pleases you most on the field?
    At the end of the game when the players and managers shake your hand and mean it.

  14. What one change, if any, would you like to see in today’s game?
    More respect for the referee as they do in Rugby by calling them Sir. Moving the ball forwards by 10 yards for any dissent

  15. Is there any one piece of advice you would give to anyone considering taking up the whistle?
    Do it while you can

  16. Is there any one piece of advice you would give to another referee?
    There are always other referees to talk to

  17. Hobbies & Interests outside of football?
    Running marathons
