    14 years.

  4. What Level are you and what leagues do you officiate on?
Level 1, refereeing on the Football League and FA Premier League.

  5. Why did you become a Referee?
My dad was a referee and I became aware of a course through him. I had always been enthusiastic about all aspects of football and decided to try my hand at refereeing alongside playing and spectating.

  6. Most inspirational person in your refereeing?
    My dad.

  7. Most memorable moment since refereeing?
It’s difficult to choose between refereeing the Football League Division 2 play-off final between Cardiff City and QPR at a sold-out Millennium Stadium, or refereeing my first FA Premier League game, Fulham v Wolves.

  8. What is the funniest moment in any of your games?
Doing my first ever ladies football game last year when I was in my third season as a Football League referee, and being asked at half-time by one of the players, who was most serious, if I had qualified as a referee, so unimpressed was she by my performance!

  9. What is the worst or frustrating moment in any of your games
    ? See question 8!

  10. What ambitions do you have whether refereeing or having given up the whistle...
    In one year?
To become an established Premier League referee

    In five years?
To become an established FIFA referee

    In ten years?
    To still be sane!

  11. Before each game you officiate on, what aims do you have?
Not to give the teams an opportunity to use me as a scape goat for their failings, by doing my job properly.

  12. What most frustrates you on the field?
My team not being appreciated for the effort we make and the ability we (normally!) demonstrate in bringing the game to a successful conclusion

  13. What pleases you most on the field?
Being appreciated and allowing talented player’s to flourish by offering them the protection they need.

  14. What one change, if any, would you like to see in today’s game?
Whilst the introduction of the 9.15m advancement is a welcome addition to our armoury of management tools, I would like to see more flexibility in the way it is applied, eg being able to move the ball forward more than once at each free-kick and being able to do so without having to caution at the same time - players would soon get the message as the ball was moving closer and closer to their goal.

  15. Is there any one piece of advice you would give to anyone considering taking up the whistle?
Be prepared to listen and learn, show commitment in everything you do and always have faith in yourself (oops, that’s 3 pieces of advice!)

  16. Is there any one piece of advice you would give to another referee?
To those referees operating in local football, always look to go wide if operating without neutral assistant referees as this gives you the opportunity to make credible offside decisions, and keep the match ball until you get paid!

  17. Hobbies & Interests outside of football?
Enjoying time with my family - they really do keep my hands full and I have little opportunity to find time for anything else.

  18. Who is your favourite footballer of all time?
Rotherham United legend Ronnie Moore (and what a manager!)
